Free Throw
A free throw is an unopposed attempt to score points from the free-throw line, which is located 15 feet (4.57 meters) from the basket.
Free throws are awarded after certain fouls committed by the opposing team. The player who is fouled usually takes the free throw(s). Each successful free throw is worth one point.
